Important to know: the natural rusting process
The Corten steel garden screen Basic is delivered unroasted. After installation, the weather influences ensure that the rusting process starts. As a result, the steel gradually develops its characteristic rusty brown color.
Please note that Corten steel is not recommended within a 2 km radius of a coastline. During the rusting process, rust water may be released. Therefore, consider the surface and surrounding materials when installing the screen.
Important for delivery: unpack the products immediately after delivery. In this way, any moisture between the packaging and the product can evaporate immediately. When this moisture remains, irregular rust spots and stains can form.
Product information cortenstaal:
Cor-Ten steel also known as weatherproof steel. It is a metal alloy consisting of iron to which copper, silicon, nickel and chromium are added. Corten steel is a very strong type of steel. Because it has the property of covering itself with a protective rust layer when exposed to the outside air. This natural solid rust layer forms the protection against further corrosion.
